Introspectus Counselling Ltd. ("we", "us", "our") is committed to maintaining the accuracy, confidentiality, and security of your personal information. By booking an appointment or completing our intake forms via the Jane App, you are consenting to the collection, use, and retention of your personal information for the purpose of providing psychotherapy services and assessments.
2. Collection and Storage (Jane App)
We use Jane App, a Canadian-based practice management software, to store all client records, booking details, and assessment data.

Security: Jane App encrypts all data during transfer and storage.

Compliance: Our use of Jane App satisfies the requirements of PIPA (BC) and PIPEDA.

Location: All data is stored securely on servers located within Canada.

Submission of Information By voluntarily submitting your personal information through our website contact forms or the Jane App booking system, you explicitly consent to the collection, use, and storage of that information for the purpose of facilitating clinical services, assessment, and administration. You acknowledge that providing this information initiates a record-keeping process required by British Columbia health regulations.
3. Website Cookies & Tracking
We do not use cookies. Our website does not utilize "cookies," tracking pixels, or analytics software (such as Google Analytics) to track your behavior or collect personal data while you browse our site. Your visit to our informational pages remains anonymous.
4. Email Communication Policy
We use email strictly for administrative purposes (e.g., scheduling, billing, and general inquiries).

5. Disclosure and Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. Your information is strictly confidential and is not shared with insurance companies, employers, or other third parties without your specific, written direction.
Exceptions (Limits to Confidentiality): As regulated health professionals in British Columbia, we are required by law to disclose personal information without consent in the following specific circumstances:

If there is an imminent risk of serious bodily harm to yourself or another person (including the identification of a specific victim).

If there is suspicion of child abuse or neglect (Child, Family and Community Service Act).

6. Data Retention
In accordance with professional standards for psychotherapy in British Columbia, client files and assessment data are retained for a minimum of 7 years from the date of the last entry (or 7 years past the age of majority for minors). After this period, records are securely destroyed or permanently anonymized.
